There are more than 2,300 sites spread across all Italian regions, with TV and radio systems managed and serviced by our technicians working in the area.

Our fibre-optic network, integrated with radio link systems, interlinks Rai's production sites, regional offices, and production centers. It facilitates the transport of radio and TV signals to the head-ends and, once multiplexes are set up, to the broadcasting sites, from where the signals are transmitted to the TV and radio antennas of users within the serviced area.

The terrestrial network is complemented by a satellite network that, besides serving as a reserve and backup, ensures the broadcasting of RAI programmes across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and, with the support of our partners, the rest of the world through the Eutelsat Hot Bird 13° East satellite.
