Rai Way is piloting a radio and logistics infrastructure for drones in BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) mode, based on avionics standards and implemented at its own sites.
The first phase of the project focuses on control and command radio links (C2-Link), essential to ensure safe, reliable long-distance flights. These links address the needs of:
- drone operators, who require stable, certifiable services;
- regulators (ENAC and MIMIT), tasked with defining safety standards and a clear framework for frequency use.
Since 2020, trials have been conducted at the Rai Way Center in Monte Peglia, integrating radio equipment and VTOL drones.
