Enrico Mordillo




CHAIRMAN

Born in Naples in 1968, he earned a degree in Computer Science from the University of Turin in 1991. After completing his military service, he began his professional career in 1992 as an IT Consultant, first as a Programmer and Systems Analyst for Olivetti and later as a Project Analyst at FIAT MAINS S.p.A. .

It was during this time that he gained his first experience in the field of IP networking. In 1994, he joined Omnitel Pronto Italia S.p.A., where he contributed to the company’s start-up, initially working at the Ivrea office and later at the Milan office. He first served as a Network Analyst, collaborating on the design, implementation, and management of the IP network at various Omnitel sites in Italy (Milan, Ivrea, Rome, Naples). He then became a Project Leader for data network aspects, specifically LAN and WAN Infrastructure Design & Implementation, coordinating projects for the integration of IT services and infrastructure (Data Network, Voice Network, Systems). He oversees the technical implementation of several national call centers and contributes to the design and implementation of cybersecurity solutions.

In 2000, he joined RAI’s ICT Systems Department, where he became responsible for Network Operations within the “Service Operations” unit, overseeing the management of the Network Operation Center facilities at the RAI centers in Rome and Turin. He also oversaw the IT-related launch of the server farms managed by the ICT Department. In 2008, within the Procurement and Services Department – ICT Department, he was entrusted with responsibility for the “Voice and Data Network” organizational unit. In this role, he ensured the strategic evolution of the Corporate IP Network, its operation through 24/7 monitoring and maintenance services, guaranteeing service levels, and introduced IP telephony. He then spearheaded the integration of data, voice, and video, also initiating the transport of digitized audio-video signals over the IP Network. He launched network virtualization through the creation of MPLS Networks and enabled the entire network for the transport of multicast content.

He spearheaded Rai’s membership in MiX in Milan, making it the first national content provider to join. He oversees the development, evolution, and operation of IT security architectures and solutions. In 2013, he was appointed head of the “Engineering and Architecture” unit within the ICT Department. He defines strategies for the evolution of ICT solutions and their underlying architectures. He ensures the renewal of infrastructure and application solutions to support the company’s business, through the adoption of market platforms and the phasing out of legacy solutions, with the aim of optimizing systems that support business processes in the editorial, production, and economic/financial sectors. He oversees the evolution of cybersecurity solutions. He develops the company’s data centers and network services for the Internet. He enables the use of collaboration solutions. During the COVID-19 emergency, he promoted the use of IT solutions to support agile work models, with a focus on smart working and remote work. Within the same Department, in 2017 he was responsible for the “Engineering and Architecture” organizational unit as Deputy Director.

In 2022, within the ICT Division, he was appointed Deputy Director of the “Demand Management” organizational unit. He manages relationships with the company’s business divisions and Group companies to identify their ICT service needs and to guide related project initiatives, managing the project portfolio.

In 2023, he was appointed Director of the ICT Division within the CTO – Technology Infrastructure. He ensures the evolution and operation of IT services, in line with the objectives of the RAI service contract and the company’s Business Plan. He promotes the efficiency of IT models by enabling their integration and developing new services aimed at leveraging data within a Data-Driven Company framework. Appointed as RAI’s representative to the Turin Industrial Union, he completed the EBU Executive Program through a training course in Barcelona, Los Angeles, and New York.

In 2025, he was appointed Chief Technology Officer, while continuing to serve as interim head of the ICT Department. He initiated cross-functional coordination of IT and technology initiatives across the departments within his area, promoting the reuse of services and enabling efficiency improvements aimed at fostering the development of new integrated architectural solutions. He was appointed as the technical lead within the company’s Steering Committee to facilitate the introduction of AI solutions within the company. For the Sanremo 2026 event, he established the technical infrastructure for the regular launch of the 4K channel on Digital Terrestrial Television. He oversaw the development of the DAB project. In November 2025, he was appointed as interim Data Officer.

Since 28 April 2026, he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rai Way S.p.A.
