Rai Way alongside audiovisual reception professionals
The Tivùsat & Partners 2025 Roadshow kicked off on 6 March in Florence, launching a nationwide series of meetings with audiovisual reception professionals that will travel across Italy throughout the year. Rai Way is taking part as a partner in this edition, with the goal of strengthening relationships with installers, system integrators and sector technicians — key figures who ensure that end users receive a reliable, high-quality, and uninterrupted television signal.
Over the years, Italy’s television system has undergone a profound technological evolution, moving from analogue models to modern digital technologies. Within this transformation, Digital Terrestrial Television remains the primary platform for TV broadcasting. To ensure universal coverage, Rai integrates its terrestrial network with satellite transmission — a field in which Tivùsat plays a vital role, enabling users to access high-definition content even in areas with limited terrestrial coverage. The complementarity between the two platforms guarantees service continuity, image quality, and signal stability across the entire national territory.
Florence: Technology, Infrastructure, and Services for an Evolving Television Ecosystem
During the Florence stop, discussions focused on the current state of the network and future development plans.
Alessandro Fani, Rai Way’s Regional Manager for Tuscany, outlined the current configuration of the region’s digital terrestrial network and the progress made to strengthen coverage and service reliability. Umberto Babuscio, Chief Broadcasting & Media Officer, presented the innovative solutions being implemented to meet user needs and support the ongoing evolution towards multi-platform broadcasting models, integrating broadcast and IP technologies. Among these are Rai Way’s proprietary Content Delivery Network (CDN) and its fibre-optic transmission network, designed to deliver high-quality content and provide advanced infrastructure in support of Italy’s media and broadcasting sector.
